However it can also be employed wherever 56VDC level power sources are needed. There are applications which may require delivering power in a range of 48VDC to 57VDC over CAT5 cable for distances up to 100m. For these applications transmission at the higher voltage is more efficient as it reduces cable losses when compared to the lower voltage.
