Cisco CRS-1 Router

The Cisco CRS-1 Series Forwarding Processor 40G card provides 40-Gbps distributed forwardingengine capability for the Cisco CRS-1 Series. The 40G card is responsible for the data-plane processing tasks and all network traffic flows through it. The 40G card performs all baseline packet routing operations including Layer 3 forwarding quality-of-service (QoS) classification policing and shaping security access control lists (ACLs) VPNs load balancing and NetFlow. Performance highlights of the 40G card include hardware-assisted policing and jitter- and latency-minimizing multicast packet replication.
